The Big guns were called in ahead of time, which says the verdict was already in.  Those of us who have lived through the 60’s, and those who study history didn’t expect anything different.  The message was sent when President Obama won the election.Doctor Henry Gates was the target that said that it was on!  The attack on Black men, the rape of women, the demise of education in the public school system, no jobs that pay a living wage,and the focus  on celebrities ,and trying to attain that life style is achieving for those who have more than they need to have  the infinite position of power.  Cliche’s come to mind, ” A house divided cannot stand”, is one.  The need to keep division among people, the color of one’s skin, the better educated, constantly bombarding people with  hopes of attaining wealth by playing a game of ball, being a singer or actor,a dancer,,and taking away the essentials that would allow people  to see each other as equals is merely a dream.  To  live in fear is  not is not what the constitution guarantees.  The 50 states and common wealths of the United States can all be seen in Ferguson.People of color are still seen as prey for the police, and white men.  The incident where the police asked a Black man to get his ID out of his vehicle, and then shot him more then once and calmly said he had called medical attention for him, never putting his gun by his side is the perfect example of how the police see their job.Every State has the same stories.  The fact that this has been going on since 1865 says they don’t intend to stop unless masses of people take to the streets and say they will not accept this behavior any longer.  The truth about history needs to be taught as well as the enforcement of laws , women are humanbeings, everyone has a mother.  To be raped and to live in fear is just unreal, yet women have been subjected to this since forever..  When a woman is raped, the burden of proof is on her.  The shame, humiliation being tagged is  what she is left with. The Bill Cosby phenomenom syas it all.The republicans call the President a king, but action speaks louder than words.  Look at what occurs and not what is said.  This picture speaks more then a thousand words.

Lost and “We Don’t Talk About That”

When Slavery is discussed these days, it is usually only about African Americans or Africans.  This is due in part that skin color denotes slavery, which became the norm in colonial America after indentured slavery was no longer needed.  That system played out when it was noted that Blacks were out numbering whites in the southern states,and that color itself would signify slave status.  The word “Slav”, originally meant, “the People of glory”, who were a Slavs or slavonians taken in war, not Black but White.  For the transportation of white slaves to America and their sale see, James Oneal: The Workers in American History, chap.,”The White Slave Trade>”He quotes: One ship sailing…in 1745 with 400 Germans of whom only 50 lived to see America…..Still another bearing 1500 lost1100 from deaths on the voyage.  J.B. McMaster, a noted historian of the times said, “Packed like herring and sold as slaves.” The newcomer became in the eyes of the law a slave and in both criminal and the civil code was classed with the Negro slaves and the Indians……They were worked hard, were dressed in the cast off clothes of their owners and might be flogged as often as the master or mistress thought necessary.Europe’s whites , the Irish,Scots, and many others, entered this America as slaves.For the sale of White people as Negro slaves, see:article from Cincinnati Philanthropist, reprinted in Colored American June 20th, 1840,where a white woman and her 10 children by 2 of her white masters were sold as Negroes. McInnes says of the West Indies, ” The White servants were often placed under Black overseers.       Many Whites are not only descendants of  the institution of slavery but of Black slaves.  There are 25 million White descendants of Black slaves.  This is another topic that I won’t go into right now. That both Negroe and Whites were and is still rumored were held as slaves in North Africa is common knowledge of the people that live there and Europe.  Arabia and Morocco were infamous for their White  Slaves.   Kings  of Europe collected monies to pay for their return.  England in particular.  Rosita Forbes, in the chapter, “The Slave Market-Arabia,” tells of the White women slaves one of whom ” might have been born anywhere north…. even of the English Channel” and of :Circassians….of a fairness ranging from ivory to olive.”-Women Called Wild, p.28-48, N.Y.,1937   There is so much literature on this subject, but as I said, WE Don’T Talk About This! , but we really ought too.     In order for this country to move forward it has to address the issues staring it in the face.  It is the proverbial elephant or gorilla in the room that no one wants to admit is there.  It is disheartening,dishonest, and unfair not to have  and address the issues  race and slavery.

IS IT REALLY JUST POLITICS/

While looking and listening to the “TODAY SHOW’, this morning, the news of Osama Bin Laden’s death came as a surprise to me.  Not so much his death but the way it was being presented.  It was being hailed as justice for the 911 bombing of the Twin Towers.  It struck me as being so different because I wondered should they have taken him alive as opposed to murdering him on the spot and naming it Justice.  An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, isn’t that how the saying goes.  The news media has allowed the world to see that Bin Laden was suffering with an incurable illness, so many thought and may continue to think that his illness is what did him in, but would it had served the world to put him on trial?  What message would a trial have conveyed to the Muslin, Arabic world and the world in general?  Now  I  wonder if some will view this action as vigilantly justice.  The thought crossed my mind that is it right for someone to kill the person who is responsible for the murder of a loved one?  Bin Laden is and now was responsible for the deaths of so many people.  He caused turmoil,lost,physical, and mental damage to the entire United States and the world.  For it to be over just like that, doesn’t satisfy me.  After the Bush administration could never produce him, and to wake to his death, just doesn’t feel right.  I am truly surprised at this revelation.  Now the analytical process’s will begin on his death.  This just doesn’t sit well with me.  Something just isn’t right about this.   Closing the door on this after so many years of, “Where Is Bin Laden”, doesn’t feel like justice.  A court trial is what should have happen.  Seeing him get what he was due would have been justice.  Now What!

PATRIOTISM

a PATRIOT is simply one who loves his country.  To show one’s love of country, one takes care of his country.  He does no harm, only what will enhance his country.So if this is the true definition of patriotism  what is the definition of the TEA PARTY, DONALD TRUMP,AND OF COURSE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.A government where supreme power is held by the citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives  who then govern by law is what should be occurring in our country , but this is not what is taking place.  President Obama released the long form of his birth certificate today since the short form  wasn’t acceptable to the aforementioned parties.He has been in office a little over two years and this barb has continued to the point that Donald Trump used it as one of his ploys to see how much momentum he could garner if in fact he does intend to throw his hat in the ring for President.If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.  In order to be a patriot, shouldn’t Trump and the others be helping instead of hurting.  Instead of finding  inconsequential things to distract the President and others who are helping to solve the problems, they are part of the problems facing this country.  One has to ask WHY?Why would a patriot harm his country if he profess’s to be a patriot.The answer is what?Is anyone going to tell the truth.If it’s not his religion, then it’s his birth, or he doesn’t have the experience.  What else are they gonna come up with except to tell the truth.  The truth will set everybody free.  This action and others too many to mention are extensions of that “PECULIAR INSTITUTION’ from a 150 years ago.The way that too many people feel about having a President who is a man of color speaks for its self.  If those out there who believe that being white is superior, then why all the distraction. Why the anger.   If the color of one’s skin is an indicator of intelligence, then the distractions don’t make sense. President Obama has disappointed some people by the bailouts, but what do you think he should have done, let the banking institution fail. then where would we all be.  The motor industry was another one that was bailed out.  No matter how you look at it, GEORGE BUSH, is the reason why the country was left in a mess. I didn’t see or hear anyone calling him a terrorist, or anyone asking for his impeachment.  Impeachment is what should have happen.

We have a country where people live in fear.  If you do the right thing , your punished.  If you do the wrong thing in a smart and clever way, your rewarded.  To be a patriot today is tricky. To demonstrate one’s love of country, could cost you your life, all you have to do is read the constitution of the United States and do what it tells you to do.  What do you think will happen?

A Receipe for Continued Destruction

Today I saw and read an article about one”Marilyn Davenport”, from Orange County, California, who sincerely insults mine and most people’s intelligence.  She wants us to believe that a card depicting a family of chimps,3 in total, a father, mother and baby chimp, with the Presidents face on the baby chimp and the caption reading”Now You Know Why No Birth Certificate”, is a joke.  What the hell is funny and who is it funny to!  If she has a mind set like this,  and she is not alone in this way of thinking, then is it possible to have hope that stupidity,ignorance,and most of all racism can ever be addressed and understood with people who feel as she has so boldly demonstrated?Then there’s the celebration of the 150 year anniversary of the Civil War.  Some are planning to have a ball to celebrate.  Again there’s all this talk of Lincoln’s assassination.  New books are out about it.  The fact that Nancy Hanks is an ancestor of the actor “Tom Hanks” is in the news again.  You still have the Tea Party and who could forget , the Republican party, fighting the President every step of the way.  Mix together and what do you have?”CONTINUED DESTRUCTION”.   The evolution of intelligence is not in this recipe.    Just think, here we are again dealing with RACE.  It was a thorn for Lincoln as it is for Obama.  W.E. B Du Boise predicted this 100 years ago. The problem for the 21st century. People of color and people who feel that  people of color are human beings have been murdered because of racial superiority. The fact that some people have so much hatred for the President because he is of color, that that is all they are consumed with.  The rise of John Wilkes Booth is back.  I take this talk as threats against the President.   The President has been walking a tight rope from day one.  He and his family have been under a microscope.  Why?   Color of skin.  Too many political folk keep referring to the founding fathers, hoping for some sort of validity, only to prove that they need to go back to school.  Dr. Benjamin Rush, a signer of the Declaration, who also worked with the Rev. Richard Allen to found the AME church, worked and served under 3 different Presidents, each from different political parties, is some one they should have studied and taken a lesson from.  He called himself a :Christ-ocrat.  He believed all power will always fail of producing order and happiness in the hands of man. Rush was a man of God and stood for those principles.  Noah Webster. another founding father, reminded voters that principle should be a guide for selecting men  for office.  Was Jimmy Carter the last real President?  People as a whole are unforgiving judges.  The hostage situation is what was held against Carter.  What is being held against Reagan, The two Bushes who were President.  Bill did a good job, but the Republicans had to make his personal business public.Marilyn Davenport does a good job reminding us of just how hatred there is for people of color.  She was not alive during the civil war, but generational hatred has been a way of life for so many folk.Haley Barbor is another who is celebrating the anniversary of the civil war.  Many people were expecting President Obama to do What Roosevelt did for the depression of the 1930’s.  Wpa program was a life safer for people then as well as the war.As a matter of fact, it was under Roosevelt that the Democrats-for the first time-placed language in their platform calling for an end to racial discrimination, and the Democrats in Congress still killed every piece of civil rights legislation introduced in that era.  America needs a recipe for the growth,the unity, and  yes, to start facing its fear of skin color. Because the Chimp picture is something that was done and said over a hundred years ago, she should have also know that some people actually shaved a chimp of his hair to see who the chimp resembled more.In closing,  I ‘d like people to remember that during the civil war there was a horrible occurrence referred to as the “POISON SPRING’.  on April 18th, 1864, Colored troops the 1st of Kansas, were murdered, tortured, burned, women and children, all bodies mutilated and dumped in the spring.  These White people were angry that colored men had been allowed to serve in the war.  So with this in mind, the recipe for destruction is something everyone needs to take to heart.  Look in the mirror, you don’t have to believe in GOD.  Are you a decent HUMAN BEING,  do you know right from wrong, and you are not a GOD!

Race, Forever a Thorn

Today someone sent me a document, elaborating on these issues concerning Blacks:  Greed,no unity,they don’t read,priorities out of wack, and self destructive.  It went on to say that they were still in servitude to whites.It talked about how “BET” , too many of the reality shows with the wives of pro ballers, the name brand clothes, and all the glamour of HOLLYWOOD, are all tools to keep the BLACKS  in MIND CHAINS.  This is the new WILLIE LYNCH  letter, that is being circulated.  Will this letter open folk’s eye’s to how too many people view Blacks? It went on to say much more than I am saying here.  It also brought to mind just how evil, and cruel too many people are.  To take pride in destroying human beings,  that gave and keep on giving to the world.  To take pride in breaking the spirit, the mind,and the soul of human beings, and to stick your chest out and say “This is what I have done” and then turn around a ask folk to donate money for the care of animals, is appalling!You see more ads on television for cats and dogs, as well as the preservation of all wildlife, but not for Human life.

 

When one looks at the continent of Africa and sees how large it is, and completely populated with people, and how it has been raped by Europeans since they re-entered it . The Portuguese started by trading for gold and other commodities. Then they intermarried with the Africans to gain an inside hold on the gold which turned into Black Gold.  Which was slavery.Many European Houses of royalty intermarried, traded goods.during the mediaeval period.  The Hanseactic trade route was the way of the known world.  King Roderick married a Black Queen.Britian , Spain, joined in and the dye was cast.  When the colonial period of the America’s came, slavery took on a different twist then it had before.After indentured servitude waned, and slavery was determined by skin color, those in power brainwashed themselves into believing that Africans were not human.  That they were somehow lower than animals.  A legal basis was established in Mexico in 1636, creating statues making Africans chattel.  By doing so. The owner of this human chattel had the right to kill, maim, rape. burn , any slave he wanted to.Status passed through the mother.  Africans were slaves for life.In the state of Virginia, 1662 statues read, “All children born in this country shall be held bond or free according to the condition of the mother.  The Barbados slave code of 1661 was a law passed by Colonial Legislature to provide a legal base for slavery.South Carolina adopted this way of slavery.

When one looks back over the years at how the police dealt with Black folk, killing Black men , warehousing Black men in jails, the mis- education of Black children, Black women so disrespected in every manner, Slavery has never left.  It took on a new form but still recognizable.The 1980’s and 90’s saw more police shooting Black youths and men , like it was open season for duck hunting.The progress made in the 1960’s and 70’s , has gone.  There are no programs, no recreation centers,no jobs, and what was a decent school system then , nothing remains today. The document that I read today is one that no human should be proud of.  I want as many Black folk to read this document to see just how folk think of themselves and Blacks!

“Just Sayin’……….

I read in a paper, I won’t mention the name of the paper, that some people are upset that a Black person is playing a role in the new movie “Thor”.  I am trying to understand why they have a problem with it.  No one seems to mind when know historical figures, to name a few are not played by people of color:  Zeus, Hercules,Apollo, Artemis,Dionysius,Cassiopeia, just to name a few.  I do not hear people of color getting irate about actors acting in a role of a movie or a play.  Why can’t folk just leave “color” out of it? The President of the United States , is being constantly disrespected because he happens to be a man of color.  These folk have an awesome problem with color of skin.   That is all they see.With this being said, how can a country move forward when it keeps going backward and won’t even confront the problem of color?  These folk still won’t admit to the “Jefferson/Hemmings” affair.  What about Washington’s Black son by a slave name, “Venus”, or Patrick Henry’s Black son, Ben Franklin’s Black children. Can we read the “Johnnycake Papers”? Exactly what is “FREEDOM”?  Do we really have the right to voice our beliefs,how we feel, or is that only on paper? It seems that that is really what it is.  GIVE ME YOUR TIRED, YOUR POOR”, The promise of America to people looking for a better life,not to be oppressed,not to be silenced, is not for real!  When everything done by a  person of color is picked apart under a microscope, but the same process is not done to other folk says what? If I remember my history, There was a Black Memnon at the battle of Troy.  King Priam’s daughter married a Black man and had a baby named”Tror”, Thor.  Look it up.  Just to give a little more historical insight Ethiopia, prior to becoming a Christian Nation was the home of the Gods.  The Gods of Greece and Rome were the Gods of Ethiopia.Homer, Hesiod, Pindar, and Herodotus mention this in their writings. It is associated with a kingdom said to be seated at Joppa.  In the movie”CLASH OF THE TITANS’, THE ROLES OF KING CEPHEUS, QUEEN CASSIOPEIA AND DAUGHTER ANDROMEDA, are not played by people of color.  The old Romans were more truthful then the folk of today. Pliny, the elder speaks about the name, Ethiopia, being derived from an individual who was the son of Hephaestus. Folk are not in an uproar about this, so why is Thor a problem?  Just sayin…. If this world were attacked by UFO’S, would color matter then?  Would the same folk be telling all people to pull together as a team? Would all people be considered Human? Just keep in mind, If this were to happen, aren’t the UFO’S REALLY REALLY SMART/

 

JUST SAYIN…….2

On the news, there was mention of “Haley Barbour”, who has practically announced his bid for 2012 Presidential election, and he also wants to honor a General Nathan Bedford Forest, who just happen to be head of the KKK  during the civil war era.  Mr. Barbour wants to honor this general with a commemorative state license tag.  How do you interpret this action, what does it mean to you?I wonder if the 179 congress men who disrespected our President feel the same way as Barbour.I interpret this as trying to turn back the clock.  That’s how I interpret their action.The Tea Party as well.  What are the differences among the three?  How many of the 179 were Republicans, Independents, or Democrats?  The silent majority has to be counted as well.  When you add it all up , what segment of the whites actually did vote for the President?  There are no living veterans of the Civil War today, so those who continue to hold with the old south being resurrected are saying what to us that are still  being affected by slavery, and those progressive minded folk.  That America needs to reinstate slavery!, or that in order to be be superior, one has to put others beneath them, what does it really say?If one honors  the “Peculiar Institution”, and the KKK, What does that say about the general feeling of the people represented by the 179 congress men, the tea party and the silent majority?  History of both parties need to be re examined, because so many of us do not read code.  The KKK was formed by the Democratic party after the civil war.  Reconstruction was not what Southern Whites could tolerate, and the Republican party at this time was the party for Blacks.  In 1868, the klan in South Carolina issued a push-card about the size of a baseball card picturing 63 Radicals; they were all Republicans.  At this time the Republican party was bi-racial and allowed Blacks to vote and participate in the political process, this making the Republicans radicals in the eyes of the Democrats.With the help of this card it allowed the Knight Riders(Democrats), to pay a visit too, as they had done to Senator Winsmith. Because of the passage of the 13th amendment and the end of slavery, Black Americans,-particularly in the south, could finally enjoy their first taste of civil rights.  If you remove”Slavery” from the civil war, do you really have a purpose to go to war?  Is there a reason for southern states to secede from the union?  Let’s fast forward,  These same sentiments that certain people had then are present now, and why would anyone want to turn the clock back?  The political parties of today have changed places to a certain degree.As a people united for what the ideals of country have been  built upon, Why do the tea party, silent majority, and the people that the 179 congressmen represent want to reverse policy?  Why do they have a problem with the color of skin?  What does brown and black skin represent to them?  After G.W.Bush’s 8 years of disgrace, what else could the problem be?
